Meet Our Advertisers: Dr. Allan Zacher of Mountain Radiance Medical Spa

Dr. Zacher comes to the creation of Mountain Radiance Medical Spa from his work as a board certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain management doctor. He owned Interventional Pain Services of NC in Clyde from 2005 to 2015. “I am very familiar with strong medications as well as muscle relaxants that work the same way as Botox. I have performed many thousands of injection procedures for patients, achieving a high degree of satisfaction.”

Dr. Allan Zacher

Dr. Zacher has always been interested in the sciences and art; he obtained an undergraduate degree at University of Missouri in biology with a minor in chemistry, and earned general and departmental honors. However, with a long-time interest in the arts, especially in photography and crafts, he became fascinated with the use of modern and cutting-edge technological advances used artistically to treat patients’ facial concerns.

“I have a passion for creating beauty. The amazing thing I’ve discovered is that a tremendous advantage can be accomplished without surgery. The use of Botox, fillers, and laser technologies can significantly improve one’s appearance. Changes can be truly remarkable! After four years of independent study, course work, consultation and hands-on training, in 2008 I opened Mountain Radiance as a subsidiary of my pain management practice. Over the years, as the Spa grew, I became totally engaged in the delivery of cosmetic and weight-loss services to the community.” A year ago he decided to limit his practice solely to Mountain Radiance and recently opened the facility in the Haywood Park Hotel in the heart of downtown Asheville, NC.

“In March of 2016, I became affiliated with Skin Spa, Asheville, a day spa in the Haywood Park Hotel owned and operated by Melissa Markis, LE. This affiliation and the advantage of being in downtown Asheville have been so incredible. I have made new friends and developed new clientele very quickly. Melissa and I work well together and we are looking toward an even brighter and busy future at this location.”

Current services offered include:

• Laser hair removal
• Laser treatment of age spots and veins on the face and hands
• Botox, Juvederm, and Voluma injections
• Kybella for the fat pad under the chin
• Affiliate Skin Spa provides peels, anti-aging facials, and skin care products including Obagi, as well as other spa treatments.

“I love providing attention to the client’s needs and desires. Since cosmetic work is completely optional, it is most important to listen to the patient’s concerns. Is it a wrinkle here? An age spot there? Unwanted hair? Reduction of creases, lines, correction of sagginess? Focus on the desires of the patient is the primary concern. If the client has a concern that I can’t help with, I will try to make an appropriate referral.”

In addition to current services, Dr. Zacher will soon offer Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for facial rejuvenation and to treat knee and shoulder arthritis; fractionated CO2 laser for “laser peel” that can help with fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. He will also soon be accepting new patients for his weight-loss clinic.

Age Reversal?

“While it is not possible to reverse age, of course, it is possible to reverse or reduce the effects of aging in many ways. Reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and improving the tone and texture of the skin is predominant in this process. We spend time and money on our hair, nails, clothing, but when you’re speaking to someone, the face is the most prominent feature they will see and notice. Devoting time and resources to maintaining the best face possible can pay off in personal relationships as well as business relationships.”

Effective and Safe?

“Treatment with Botox is the most frequently performed medical procedure in America and probably in the world. While there is risk with any medical procedure, the risks are minimal and the results are fantastic when provided by a medical professional with years of experience. Because Botox and its cousin, Disport, are slow and long-acting muscle relaxants that don’t have an effect for days, I like to describe the treatment as similar to painting with a blindfold on, a picture you can’t look at for a week or more. Treating with Botox properly to achieve the patient’s desired results requires months and preferably years of experience to achieve the desired goal.”
