Poetry: The Places I May Go

By Joanie Harrison

I have been in many places, but I’ve never been in Cahoots.

Apparently, you can’t go alone. You have to go there with someone else.

I’ve also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane. They don’t have an airport; you have to be driven there. I have made several trips
thanks to my exes, friends, family and work.

It’s just a short drive from where I am.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and my knees prefer not to.

I have also been in Doubt. It is there that I lost Self Esteem but later found her with Inspiration.

I’ve been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Once I was in Capable, but that allowed me to ask someone for help.

One of my favorite places to be for a visit is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get.

And, sometimes I think I would like to be in Vincible but it seems the Super Heroes don’t let visitors in.

Some folks tell me I’m in Denial but I’m positive I’ve never been there before!

I have been in Deepshit many times but got higher boots.

So far, I haven’t been in Continent; but my travel agent says my she’ll book me a flight.

In Summation I never could express myself clearly and my last trip in Determinant I wasn’t sure of anything.

I wonder where I will go next, maybe I will find my way in Decisive.
