Mod Life: poem
By: Robert Dixon
Life is more a chap book than a novel,
More a twitter than an email,
More a glance than a gaze.
Turn your head and it’s changed direction,
An acquaintance becomes a friend,
A friend becomes a lover.
Your children run from one stage to another,
Their smiles to trouble,
Their trouble to pride.
Years give way to years,
Age engenders age,
Repeating without repetition.
Robert Dixon is retired and lives on a three-generation farm in Hot Springs.
