Funky Beauty

These radical times call for love

a love so great, that all the dirt & clay available

may not be enough for you to findthe strength of your roots.

It will call out to the empty spaces

of your past and presentcall out to the could’ves and should’ves

pressed upon your broken heart

you—crippled by their weighta weight so heavy—you

do not feel enough loveenough to surround you in your daydreams

like the warming light of the sunnot enough substance to fill the emptiness

at the pit of your existence;

Not enough knowledge wisdom

to know your beauty;so, you became hesitant

a shadow waiting to happen.

You will have to rise above yourself

in these radical times perform your greatest act;

a revolutionary resucitation

gently tend to yourself

with momentum of wind

gather that holy breath

reach back

your long armto your truest nature

back to the fields of your ancient imagination

gather your funky beauty; no one knows but you

amongst the Calla Lilies, Irises and Sunflowers growing large

reach up, sweep in your cosmic self

from the blue beauty of the night sky.

Catch yourself swimming in the silver essence of the sea.

You must do this radical thing.

Gather your spirit from the four corners.

Honor the east, west, north and the south.

Deliver unto yourself a funky beauty,

a bouquet of earth, wind and fire.

Plant them at the pit of your voidand give life to yourself

with tears of your struggleand the sweat of your dreams.
